"You used to say, 'Live and let Live.' You know you did, you know you did, you know you did."
Lucas Davenport's got a big, big problem. The song "Live and Let Die" by Paul McCartney & Wings is stuck in his head, and it won't leave. It's only there because of a James Bond movie marathon the other night, but now it's playing in his head nonstop.
To make matters worse, he's obsessing on one insidious phrase, "In this crazy world in which we live in..." The blatant disregard for good grammar is annoying him, driving him over the edge... and beyond.
But the worst is yet to come: he finds out that he's been mishearing the song and getting the words wrong for his entire life. The actual lyrics make sense. But for Lucas, it's far, far too late...
With no particular case to distract him, and with his wife gone on a Caribbean getaway, Lucas finds himself pushed to the brink in a way he never expected.
